After completing five weeks of basic training as part of South Korea’s mandatory service, Jin, the oldest K-pop boy band BTS member, has shared his first photos from military service. This service is compulsory in South Korea.
On January 18, a man named Jin, who is 30 years old, used the Korean social media platform Weverse to share three photographs of himself dressed in military garb at the recruit training center of the 5th Infantry Division.
Since he just joined the military a month ago, this is his first post.
“I’m having fun. I have been given authorization from the military to post this picture,” the famous person wrote.
He told the army to “Always be happy and take care of yourselves.”
On December 13, 2022, Jin, whose birth name is Kim Seok-jin, became a member of the United States Armed Forces as an active duty soldier.
According to CNN’s reporting from the South Korean military, now that he has finished his training, he will serve as an assistant instructor at the Yeoncheon army base located in the northern part of the province of Gyeonggi.

South Korean males between 18 and 28 who are physically able to do so are required to serve in the military for approximately 20 months.
The first member of BTS to sign up for the military is Jin.
Following a law change in South Korea in 2020 that allowed internationally renowned K-pop stars to avoid military service, the band could postpone their obligation to serve in the military until they turned 30.
After completing their respective obligations, the members of BTS are anticipated to get back together as a group around 2025.
