At around 12:50 in the afternoon, officers from the Chesapeake Police Department responded to a call about a car accident that involved a kid on the 100 block of Avonlea Drive.
After arriving on the scene, the officers found out that a woman was driving in the 100 blocks when her small kid walked out in front of the vehicle and was struck by it.
The child sustained severe injuries and was taken to a hospital. According to the Chesapeake police, the toddler did not survive those injuries and passed away.
Accident investigators from the police department are now investigating at this time.
