According to several US media reports, Big Scarr, a young and promising American rapper, suddenly died at 22.
His death was announced on social media by his record producer without any mention of how he died or what caused his death.
The artist’s passing was confirmed in an Instagram post by Gucci Mane, the rapper and producer who founded 1017 Records. However, Scarr’s cause of death has not been revealed. “This hurts, and I miss you,” Mane wrote on Instagram.
Born Alexander Woods in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 7, 2000, Scarr chose his name from injuries he sustained in a car accident at age 16. The accident was not the only event that almost cost him his life.
Big Scarr has shot two years ago.
In 2020, he was shot in the hip, and the bullet went to his spine. The attack caused severe internal damage, requiring doctors to remove his intestine and perform multiple operations on his right leg.
Woods’ debut mixtape, “Big Grim Reaper,” was released on April 16 last year and reached the top 25 on the Billboard charts. He also collaborated with his record label colleagues, Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano.
According to his latest posts on Instagram, Scarr was preparing a tour for 2023 with his compatriot Key Glock before his sudden death.
No foul play is suspected in the death of Big Scarr.
Police in Memphis, Tennessee, confirmed to WHBQ News that no foul play is suspected in the death of rapper Big Scarr.
“This is an ongoing death investigation,” police told WHBQ.
Big Scarr drug Overdose Rumor
Though there is no official cause of death, several people posted rumors on social media suggesting the rapper died after an apparent drug overdose.
According to some of these social media reports, Big Scarr overdosed on percs in front of his girlfriend.
