We have learned of the sudden death of the executive producer of This Week on ABC News Sunday, Dax Tejera.
Mr. Tejera died at the age of 37, according to Holywood reporters.
Cause of Death.
Mr. Tejera died from a heart attack, according to a statement written by ABC News President Kim Godwin to the company crew.
Tejera died on December 23. 2022.
Mr. Tejera took over the ABC Sunday Shows hosted by Martha Raddatz, Jonathan Karl, and George Stephanopoulos shortly after the global outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. He started working with ABC News in 2017 in Washington, DC.
He was an experienced TV news producer working with networks like NBC news and ABC news.
Mr. Tejera was previously a producer at MSNBC for shows hosted by Chris Jansing and Alex Wagner before joining ABC News as the executive producer of Jorge Ramos’ program for the ABC-Univision joint venture Fusion (who now occupies the 9 p.m. time slot).
Tejera was noted for his competitive nature, pushing the ABC News “This Week” crew to become the most popular Sunday public affairs TV show, relying on the strengths of Karl Raddatz and George Stephanopoulos.
Mr. Tejera died, leaving behind his beautiful wife, Veronica, and his two children.

This is Dax Tejera. I traveled the world with this talented, passionate and loving executive producer. We lost him last night suddenly and tragically. A heart attack at age 37. We are all devastated. I can’t quite believe it is real. He was so good to all of us. But his real loves were his wife Veronica and 2-year-old Sofia and 6 month old Ella. Please keep them in your prayers. I am heartbroken.
